Driving Experiences in Vienna
Supercar Driving Experience
After an absence of more than 10 years, the Austrian Grand Prix returned to Österreichring in 2014, now known as the Red Bull Ring. The Grand Prix, of course, adds an additional sense of grandeur, but the Red Bull Ring offers a number of driving experiences including supercar driving, 4x4 off-road and track days. Whatever you would like to try your hand at from rally driving to racing, we can offer any number of motoring experiences. As well as the Grand Prix, there’s a host of motorsport events such as DTM and F2 in the Red Bull Ring’s calendar.
Located in Spielberg, Styria, Austria, the Red Bull Ring is much closer to the city of Innsbruck than Vienna, some 300 miles away, so we would recommend a visit with a driving tour taking in some majestic alpine routes along the way. You can even arrange to stay in a castle for added authenticity and ensure your route includes the Grossglockner Pass. The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is the highest surfaced mountain pass road in Austria and is one of the most scenic ultimate drives in Europe. For maximum driving pleasure, take to the roads in the early morning as early as 5.00-6.00am to avoid the tourist traffic. Incorporate a stop at the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe (2369 m) where you’ll find the Pasterze Glacier.
The Vienna Autoshow
There’s plenty of parking and you can admire the views while you enjoy lunch. The route also takes you up on the Hochtor Pass (2504 m) for even more incredible Austrian landscapes. For a feast of oldtimer, vintage and classic cars, there’s a new event in town. The Paris to Vienna Rally, which held its inaugural meet in 2016. Inspired by the pioneers of motorsport who competed in the original Paris to Vienna race of 1902, an epic, 559-mile (900km) contest. The rally includes a challenging drive across the Austrian Alps, with the roads in better condition today, but the rally offers a challenge for novice and experienced drivers alike and attracted 60 crews representing 15 countries driving cars ranging in age from 1905 to 1969. A more quirky event in Austria’s automotive calendar is Worthersee - Europe’s largest event dedicated to Volkswagen Group cars. Search now and we will help you arrange whichever driving experience, motor show or motoring event which suits you. And if the Red Bull Ring is too far, we can offer driving experiences closer to Vienna.
